Rich Stanmyre is a professional bass player who has been performing with a variety of acts in various cities on both coasts of the USA for the past 30 years.

Currently Rich resides in Austin,  Texas. He is presently partnered with Groove Labs, a full service entertainment co. where he produces new artists, takes care of recording and production duties as well as plays on the gigs. He toured from August 2004 to August 2005 with Sony/Epic recording artist Miranda Lambert. Since relocating to Texas in 2001 he has recorded and played with Willie Mack (Nashville singer/songwriter), Jamie Richards (Texas singer/songwrier), The Monsta's (N.Y., TX all star colaborative), Georgia Middleman ( Nashville singer/songwriter), The Jon Barry Project (Smooth Jazz), the Drew Smith Band (original pop), The Rainravens (original roots rock) and many more. He has appeared on the Tonight Show and the Today Show as well as the CMT awards show. Rich’s ability to play all styles, read music, play upright and electric basses with equal conviction as well as contribute backing vocals has kept him busy.

From 1995 until 2001 Rich lived in Nevada City, California where he was an in demand session player, teacher and sideman as well as studio engineer. He played on Roger Hodgson's (former singer/songwriter of Supertramp) "Rites Of Passage" CD in 1997 and toured South America with Roger in 1999.

Rich has played in many Northern CA groups between 1995 and 2001 including The Ivan Najara and Tony Unger Quintet (flamenco), The Deadbeats (Grateful Dead cover band), The Pleasure Addicts (latin jazz), The Bridge Street Trio (jazz), Bob Mora and the Third Degree (blues), The Dogtones (country/roots) and many others.

From 1986 until 1995 he lived and played professionally in Los Angeles where he also attended the Musicians' Institute of Technology ( Hollywood, CA). While based in L.A. he toured with blues legend Coco Montoya (John Mayall & Albert Collins), and was a member of Machina Loca featuring Ricardo Lemvo ( high energy 8-10 piece salsa band). Rich played in the fusion group Equinox which featured many of L.A.'s top jazz players. He also did sessions, taught bass. From 1980-1986 he lived in the Sacramento area playing gigs and touring.

Mr. Stanmyre is well-versed in all styles, including rock, funk, blues, country, jazz, latin and salsa. He plays with a great groove and is a gifted soloist. He has studied with Bunny Brunnel (Chick Corea), Gary Willis (Tribal Tech), Scott Henderson (Tribal Tech) and John Novello (noted keyboard instructor).

In addition to the upright and electric basses, Rich has studied piano, trombone, trumpet and drums while growing up just north of New York City.

Rich also has a Pro Tools studio and has co-produced, played on and mixed/mastered dozens of albums and projects over the past 15 years.
